SWAT: In a significant gathering, the Wifaq-ul-Madaris al-Arabia Pakistan has condemned the recent painful Swat incident where a 14-year-old student was brutally tortured to death in a Madrassah.
Deputy Commissioner of Swat, Saleem Jan, welcomed a representative delegation from Wifaq-ul-Madaris Al-Arabiya Pakistan, District Swat, at his office. The meeting focused on the recent tragic incident that occurred in Chaliyar Khwaza Khela, prompting strong reactions from local scholars.
During the meeting, the scholars conveyed their profound sorrow and regret over the incident, distancing themselves from the perpetrator. The delegation included notable figures such as Provincial Nazim Maulana Hussain Ahmed, Assistant Nazim Maulana Qari Muhibullah, Executive Member Maulana Muhammad Tahir, and other respected scholars.
Maulana Hussain Ahmed, addressing the meeting, described the incident as heartbreaking and expressed that it has deeply saddened not just scholars but the entire community. He extended full solidarity to the family of the deceased child and condemned the atrocity in the strongest possible terms. “We publicly state that we have no connection or cooperation with the perpetrator of this heinous crime,” he affirmed.
Highlighting the positive role of registered religious schools and the Federation of Arab Schools Pakistan in societal reform and religious education, Maulana Hussain expressed concern over how the actions of an individual have tarnished the reputation of all schools.
The scholars unanimously called for the swift arrest and severe punishment of all individuals involved in the incident. They pledged full cooperation with police and relevant institutions and announced the formation of a representative committee to maintain communication and offer assistance.
Deputy Commissioner Saleem Jan praised the scholars for their commitment to societal reform and the promotion of religious studies. He urged parents to thoroughly investigate the management and environment of any madrasa before enrolling their children, encouraging regular discussions with children regarding their educational surroundings and teachers.
The meeting concluded with expressions of gratitude from the Deputy Commissioner towards the scholars and a collective prayer for the security, peace, and social harmony of the nation.
