ABBOTTABAD: A woman sustained critical injuries in an acid attack by a motorcyclist in the Thanda Chowa area of Abbottabad. The police however claimed to have arrested the suspect and filed a first information report (FIR) against him.
According to District Police Officer Umar Tufail, the motorcyclist threw acid on the 30-year-old woman, causing severe injuries, before fleeing the scene. The injured woman was promptly taken to a hospital in Abbottabad for treatment.
DPO said following the incident, the police apprehended the accused, registered an FIR, and commenced further investigation into the case.
On the same day, Haripur police arrested a suspect in a sexual assault case, where the accused had sexually molested a 14-year-old boy within the jurisdiction of the police station in Khanpur.
