MARDAN: In a surprise visit on the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr, Water and Sanitation Services Company Mardan (WSSCM) Chief Executive Officer Shahid Khan inspected the city’s cleanliness campaign, lauding the efforts of sanitation workers who ensured a spotless environment during the festive celebrations.
Accompanied by municipal officials, Khan toured major highways, bustling markets, and narrow alleys to assess sanitation measures. He expressed satisfaction over the cleanliness standards and personally greeted workers on duty, acknowledging their dedication on the holiday.
“A total of 216 sanitation staff and 32 vehicles, including compactors and dumpers, were deployed to collect and dispose of waste efficiently,” Khan stated. He emphasized that no lapse in cleanliness would be tolerated, especially during Eid when public movement surges.
The CEO also inspected operational tube wells across the city, verifying staff attendance and water supply mechanisms. He directed officials to ensure uninterrupted drinking water access for citizens and warned against any negligence in service delivery.
The visit underscored WSSCM’s commitment to maintaining hygiene during festivals, with Khan urging citizens to cooperate with sanitation teams for a cleaner Mardan.
