Yunus meets Modi, seeks extradition of Hasina Wajed

PM Modi and Bangladesh’s Yunus Hold First Talks Post-Hasina Era

The demand for the extradition of Bangladesh’s former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajid has resurfaced, with Bangladeshi interim leader Dr. Muhammad Yunus meeting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to press for her return.

Sources reveal that during the meeting—marking Yunus’s first interaction with Modi—the Nobel laureate urged India to hand over Hasina, who is currently residing abroad. Yunus accused Hasina of leveling “false and provocative allegations” against Bangladesh’s caretaker government and requested India to prevent her from making such statements.
