BANNU: Bannu witnessed a joyous occasion as 123 deserving couples got married in a mass wedding ceremony organized by the Zakat Department. Hundreds of guests attended the event, turning it into a celebration of happiness and new beginnings.
District Khatib Mufti Abdul Ghani Advocate solemnized the marriages, while the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government supported each bride with a complete dowry worth Rs. 200,000. The initiative aimed to ease financial burdens and help couples start their married lives with dignity.
Provincial Minister Malik Pakhtun Yar Khan highlighted the significance of the program, stating that such mass weddings are a step toward building a welfare state. He emphasized that the government’s support goes beyond financial assistance, fostering respect and stability for newlywed couples.
The event marked another successful chapter in the Zakat Department’s efforts to facilitate marriages for those in need, bringing families and communities together in celebration.
