KARACHI: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain for Karachi starting May 5, bringing welcome news for residents. Thunderstorms and rainfall are expected to begin Monday evening and may persist for one to two days.
Previously, the Met Office predicted thunderstorms, hail, and heavy rain in various regions, particularly in upper Sindh and Balochistan. Scattered rain is also expected in Quetta, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir, with chances of heavy downpours and hailstorms.
Lahore received rain Thursday night, lowering temperatures, with more showers expected Friday afternoon.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Disaster Management Authority issued a weather alert, warning of severe storms and rain through May 4, including potential lightning and landslides in Murree and Galiyat.
