ISLAMABAD: Pakistan declared an Indian High Commission staffer persona non grata on Tuesday, ordering his expulsion within 24 hours for allegedly violating diplomatic protocols.
The Foreign Office summoned India’s Chargé d’Affaires to formally deliver the expulsion notice. A spokesperson stated the official engaged in “activities incompatible with his privileged status,” without elaborating on specifics.
This escalation follows months of strained ties between the nuclear-armed neighbors over espionage allegations and Kashmir disputes.
