Gratitude day: Nation pays homage to Armed Forces on Youm-e-Tashakur

 

The Nation observed Gratitude Day (Youm-i-Tashakur on Friday across the country to pay homage to the Armed Forces and the people for the historic victory in Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, a part of — against India.

To commemorate Marka-i-Haq, Youm-i-Tashakur is observed in all the tehsils of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where colourful events and rallies were organised to honour the valiant armed forces and the resilience of the Pakistani nation.

PESHAWAR:  

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa commemorated Yom-e-Tashakur today to pay tribute to the Pakistan Army for their valiant response during the recent aggression against the country.

The event marked national appreciation for the military’s unwavering resolve and successful execution of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsus in defence of Pakistan’s sovereignty.

All directors and senior officials of PDMA actively participated in a solidarity walk organised at the PDMA headquarters. Participants chanted patriotic slogans, including “Pak Army Zindabad,” to express unity with the armed forces.

Addressing the gathering, the Director of HR and Administration of PDMA, Naeem Ullah Khan, highlighted the nation’s collective gratitude and reaffirmed unwavering support for the Pakistan Army. He also offered prayers for the safety, stability, and solidarity of the country.

The PDMA officials reiterated their commitment to national resilience and stood in solidarity with the armed forces, acknowledging their sacrifices and dedication to safeguarding the homeland.
SHANGLA:

The University of Shangla, under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Sardar Khan (TI), observed Youm-e-Tashakur with a series of events on Friday. The program, organised by Mr. Mehraban Alam, featured participation from students, faculty, and department heads.

The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the National Anthem, student speeches in Urdu, English, and Pashto, and special prayers for the nation. Mr. Idress Khan delivered the concluding address.

Following the ceremony, a Solidarity Walk and Flag Hoisting Ceremony were held. Students carried placards expressing support for the Pakistan Armed Forces and messages directed at the international community and the Indian government.

In his message, the Vice Chancellor praised the armed forces as an undefeatable power and condemned Indian provocations under the Modi administration. He reaffirmed national unity and the country’s unwavering commitment to defend its sovereignty.

The event concluded with heartfelt prayers for the security of Pakistan and its armed forces.

BANNU:

Flag Hoisting Ceremony Held at Bannu Commissioner’s Office on the Occasion of “Youm-e-Tashakur” (Thanksgiving Day)

According to details, a grand, dignified, and patriotic ceremony was held at the Bannu Commissioner’s Office on the occasion of “Youm-e-Tashakur”. The event was attended by Commissioner Bannu Division Muhammad Ali Shah, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Bannu Region Sajjad Khan, Brigade Commander Naveed Ahmed, along with senior civil and military officials, students, media representatives, members of civil society, and a large number of citizens.

The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a minute of silence and the national flag hoisting with a salute. The atmosphere echoed with passionate chants of “Pakistan Zindabad” (Long live Pakistan).

Addressing the ceremony, Commissioner Bannu Muhammad Ali Shah said that “Youm-e-Tashakur” serves as a reminder of the achievements made possible through the great sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces. He emphasised national pride in the country’s peace, progress, and stability, and stated that the message of the day is to continue fulfilling our national responsibilities with gratitude.

Regional Police Officer Sajjad Khan stated that the police force stands shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistan Army and continues to fulfil its duties effectively in every phase of national security.

Brigadier Naveed Ahmed, in his address, affirmed that the Pakistan Army is always ready to thwart the evil intentions of the enemy, and that the prayers of the people are their true strength.

After the ceremony, a patriotic walk was also organised, in which participants took part with great enthusiasm.

The event concluded with a special prayer for the security, progress, and prosperity of the country.
WAZIRISTAN:

A grand flag-hoisting ceremony was held on Thanksgiving Day. The ceremony was attended by the district administration, tribal elders, scholars, teachers, students, political and social figures, as well as youth and women. Deputy Commissioner North Waziristan Muhammad Yousuf Karim hoisted the national flag in the green area of ​​Miranshah Model School and special prayers were offered for the security of the country. After the flag hoisting, a minute of silence was observed for the martyrs of the struggle for truth. Addressing the flag hoisting ceremony, Deputy Commissioner North Waziristan Muhammad Yousuf Karim said that on this occasion, we should also pray and give thanks for the integrity and sovereignty of the country because the value of freedom should be appreciated by those who have been fighting for freedom for many years. In ancient times, wars were fought with swords and later with guns, but in the modern era, there is a war of technology, which, by the grace and mercy of Allah Almighty, the Pakistani army and the entire nation have achieved superiority and victory over the enemy. I am specially addressing the students on this auspicious day to appreciate the country in which you were born and your future lies in this dear homeland, Pakistan. Study hard because you have to serve Pakistan in the future. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has a lot of talent. In the recent CSS exams, more women have passed the tests. It is the duty of all of us to play our part in taking Pakistan forward.
