ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Climate Change Mosaddiq Malik said that India will have to decide what concept it has of water Philosophy, whether it is a source of water, a river, a basin or water is civilization and culture.
In a conversation with a priavet news channel, the Federal Minister said that if water is a source and despite the agreement, the new procedure is that the country with the highest level in the slope has the right to stop the water, then remember that Pakistan is not alone as one-third of India’s water comes from China, and there is no agreement between these two countries, so is India giving China the right to stop all their water.’
The Federal Minister for Climate Change clarified that there is no scope for suspension in the Indus Waters Treaty, that is, what can never happen is mentioned, how can it be accepted, this is not possible.
Mosaddiq Malik said that under the said treaty, four procedures have been devised in case of disagreement, which have been used successfully in the last 50 years, according to which some decisions were in their favour and some in our favour.
‘This means that this mechanism works, we also get relief when our legal position is strong and so do they, a treaty that is active and which does not have the scope for suspension cannot be terminated, which is a technical matter.
