Flash floods destroy main road in Bela No. 4, Charsadda; Locals appeal for urgent help

CHARSADDA: Flash floods in the Swat River have once again completely destroyed the main road connecting Bela No. 4, residents reported on Saturday.

The floodwaters inundated the vital roadway, causing severe disruption for local communities. Residents now face significant difficulties moving in and out of the area.

Frustrated by the recurring damage, residents of Bela No. 4 have urgently appealed to district authorities for immediate assistance. Their pleas are directed to the Deputy Commissioner Charsadda, Assistant Commissioner Shabqadar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue and Planning, TMO Shabqadar, and other relevant departments.

Locals are demanding concrete action: the immediate emergency reconstruction of the road, the construction of a protective side wall along its length to prevent future flood damage, and proper paving to ensure safe and reliable movement.

The destruction highlights the vulnerability of infrastructure in the area to seasonal flooding and the pressing need for resilient solutions.
