ISLAMABAD: The district administration has imposed Section 144 in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, banning all public gatherings, rallies, and protests due to security concerns. The move comes after warnings of possible protests by a political party.
In Islamabad, authorities have warned that anyone involved in illegal activities will be arrested immediately. Deputy Commissioner Islamabad stated that strict legal action will be taken against violators. The administration has also deployed 2,500 police officers across the city to maintain order.
Similarly, Rawalpindi has enforced Section 144 for seven days, prohibiting processions, sit-ins, and hate speeches. The ban will remain in effect until August 10.
Officials have urged citizens to avoid participating in any unlawful activities. No protest permits have been issued, and violators will face legal consequences.
The measures aim to prevent potential disruptions to public peace as security remains on high alert in both cities.
