PDMA distributes non food items among 2497 displaced families of Bajaur

PDMA employees call pen down strike from Monday

BAJAUR: Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said that a total of 2497 persons affected by the military operation have been provided shelter and non food items in Bajaur Sports Complex, which includes blankets and kitchen items.

In a statement, PDMA said that 434 families are residing in the camp, comprising a total of 2,497 people. These include 334 men, 464 women and 1,699 children, while the number of IDPs residing in schools is 1,600 families comprising a total of 9,150 people.

PDMA said that in boys’ schools, a total of 5,947 persons (males 1,263, females 1,260, children 3,424) are residing, while in number in girls’ schools, there are 2,304 persons (males 491, females 518, children 1,295).

Similarly, the total number in private schools is 852 persons (males 211, females 221, children 420) while in hostels, 47 persons (males 11, females 16, children 20) are residing. PDMA added that they have provided non-food items, which include 900 blankets, 900 mattresses, 900 pillows, 300 kitchen sets, 300 tarpaulins, 300 mats, 300 hygiene kits, fans, torches, and other essential items have been provided.

The PDMA statement said that steps are being taken for the facilities of displaced people, and data is being collected from the entire districts to reach every affected family displaced as a result of the military operation.
