Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has said that the reconstruction of houses affected by the recent floods is the government’s top priority and the financial losses of the affected citizens will be fully compensated.
The Chief Minister said that the populations in dangerous places will be shifted to safe areas and new settlements will be established. He said that we will build houses, establish settlements and combat the flood devastation 100 percent.
He said that the government promises that those who have suffered losses will be compensated.
Ali Amin Gandapur said that along with floods, natural disasters like cloudbursts prove to be more dangerous, which bring great destruction along with stones and trees.
Ali Amin Gandapur said that encroachments established on rivers and canals for years have become a barrier to floodwater and have caused destruction. The rivers and canals have not been cleaned in time. When the water does not find a way, it comes out and causes damage.
The Chief Minister described the operation against encroachments in DI Khan as exemplary and said that a similar operation will be carried out in the entire province.
Citing the example of Buner, he said that when an attempt was made to remove the market located in the middle of a river, a stay order came from the court. If that market had been removed, perhaps such a big loss would not have occurred.
