SAWABI: At least four persons were killed and 15 were injured in two separate incidents of roof collapse and cloud burst in Sawabi on Monday.
Local sources said that the first incident reported in Sirkoi Banda where a house damaged due to heavy rain. As a result of the incident, four people were killed and seven others were injured. The injured were identified as Neelam, son of Muhammad Zameen, Naeema Gul, son of Muhammad Zameen, age 40, Anis, son of Anwar Zaman, age son of Muhammad Rashid. A total of seven people were seriously injured and were shifted to the BKMC Hospital Shah Mansoor in critical condition.
In a separate incident, seven people were injured and 12 houses were damaged in a cloud burst incident in the Dalawari area of Tehsil Gadoon of Swabi. Deputy Commissioner Sawabi Nasrullah said that water flow is very fast due to a cloud burst incident, and landslides have occurred at various places due to the mountainous area.
Rescue teams have also been called from Haripur and Mardan. The AC, Deputy Commissioner, Civil Defence, police and volunteers have left for the scene to participate in relief activities. Arrangements in the hospital, medicines, camps, and all preparations are complete.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the people to fully participate in the relief activities and help the rescue workers to evacuate the affected persons from the site. A total of 12 houses were damaged as a result of the heavy rain and flood.
