PESHAWAR: Provincial Disaster Management Authority PDMA releases report on loss of life and property in various districts of the province due to rains and flash floods and recorded 358 death and 181 people have been injured in various accidents due to rains and flash floods in the province.
The dead include 287 men, 41 women and 30 children, while the injured include 144 men, 27 women and 10 children. According to the report so far, a total of 780 houses have been damaged due to rains and flash floods. Of which 431 houses were partially destroyed and 349 houses were completely destroyed.
The reporter said that a total of 225 people have been displaced in Buner district, which was the most affected by the floods. These incidents occurred in different districts of the province, including Swat, Buner, Bajaur, Mansehra, Shangla, Dir-Lower and Battagram, Swabi.
Heavy rains have been forecast from August 17 to 19, while the current series of rains is likely to continue intermittently until August 21.
