Rift between KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur and Atif Khan deepens

KP achieves 169 billion surplus in first quarter of current fiscal year. says Gandapur

PESHAWAR: The ongoing tensions between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Atif Khan appear to be escalating, as legal disputes add fuel to the fire. Sources suggest that the controversy intensified following developments in Atif Khan’s case against an anti-corruption notice.

On March 12, the Peshawar High Court was set to hear Atif Khan’s petition against the anti-corruption proceedings. However, the hearing was adjourned based on a “consent letter” submitted by Additional Advocate General Nauroz Khan and Atif Khan’s legal counsel.

This move raised concerns, prompting Advocate General Shah Faisal Atmankhel to issue a notice to Nauroz Khan, seeking clarification on whose request the hearing was postponed—especially since the anti-corruption department had not agreed to any such arrangement.

As the controversy grew, sources claim that Additional Advocate General Nauroz Khan shifted responsibility onto the court, alleging that the request for adjournment may have been “mistakenly” recorded by the court itself.

According to insiders within PTI, the matter has taken a serious turn, with senior lawyer Qazi Anwar now calling for Nauroz Khan’s resignation. Anwar has accused him of making a false statement, arguing that if Khan had not done so, he should have filed an application to correct the court’s written order regarding the adjournment.

The situation continues to develop, raising further questions about the growing tensions within the provincial government and its legal circles.
