PESHAWAR: Aimal Wali Khan, chief of the Awami National Party (ANP), emphasized the urgent need for proper implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) in response to the deteriorating security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Speaking exclusively to Pakhtun Digital, Khan stated that terrorism cannot be resolved through political means and requires complete eradication.
Reflecting on the region’s struggles, Khan highlighted the heavy toll of militancy in KP over the past two decades, including thousands of lives lost and millions displaced due to the war on terror.

He criticized the previous Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led government for its policies of engaging in flawed peace talks with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and releasing militant commanders, which he argued exacerbated the crisis.
Khan called for the “complete elimination of the plague of terrorism” and expressed disappointment over the Pashtun community repeatedly falling prey to narratives that have fueled chaos and violent extremism in the region.
