ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Taimur Saleem Jhagra has warned that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government could face a federal-imposed emergency if the provincial budget is not approved by June 30.

Speaking during a private TV talk show, Jhagra stressed that passing the budget is a “serious legal necessity,” and failure to do so could trigger a major constitutional crisis. He accused the federal government of “financial injustice” toward KP and emphasized the need for decisive action to protect the province’s interests.

The PTI leader acknowledged internal party challenges, admitting that the consultation process within PTI had been weak. However, he urged members to move forward, stating, “There is room for improvement in decision-making, and past grievances can be overcome with better actions.”

Jhagra also revealed that Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, had expressed dissatisfaction with the party’s performance, believing leadership directives should have been implemented more effectively.

With the budget deadline looming, Jhagra called for urgent steps to avoid administrative paralysis in KP, warning that further delays could lead to federal intervention.
