Arrest warrants issued for PTI leaders Omar Ayub and Ahmed Khan Bhachar

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Terrorism Court has issued arrest warrants for 57 accused persons, including key leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Omar Ayub, Ahmed Khan Bhachar, Bilal Ijaz and Ahmed Chatha.

The case was heard in the Anti-Terrorism Court and these warrants were issued in the case of violent incidents that took place in the Judicial Complex Mianwali. The court ruled that legal action is required against all the named accused for not appearing despite repeated summons, under which arrest warrants are being issued so that the case can be brought to a logical conclusion.

The order issued for the arrest nominated leaders includes Opposition leader Umar Ayub, Ahmad Khan Bachar, Bilal Ijaz and Ahmad Chatha.  The court has directed that all the accused be arrested soon and produced before the court so that the trial can proceed without any hindrance.

It may be recalled that after the arrest of the PTI Chairman on May 9, 2023, there were violent protests across the country, in which government and military installations were also targeted. Several cases were registered on these incidents, in which anti-terrorism provisions have been included.
