In a landmark verdict, the Special Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Swat, sentenced four individuals, Tauseef Ayaz, Rashid Wali, Sher Muhammad and Hamza Ali Khan for belonging to a banned militant outfit, engaging in illegal activities and conspiring against national security.
The accused were arrested by the CTD for possessing illegal weapons, hand grenades, incendiary materials, pamphlets and fake identity documents, for which the court sentenced them according to law based on solid evidence.
According to the court verdict, the individuals have been given various types of punishments, including imprisonment and heavy fines. In this case, the prosecution wing of the CTD presented a strong case in the light of solid evidence and witness statements, which resulted in this verdict.
A statement issued by the office of Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed congratulated the Investigation and Prosecution Wing of the CTD on this major success.
The IGP said in his statement that the Counter Terrorism Department team handled the case in a very professional manner, which is an important step towards upholding the law and establishing peace and order.
The IGP clarified that the Counter Terrorism Department will continue its operations against anti-national elements and will leave no stone unturned to eliminate the facilitators and networks of terrorists.
The Counter Terrorism Department reiterates that it will continue to follow a zero tolerance policy against terrorist elements, and strict action will be taken as per the law.
