Bangladeshi Origin Brigadier Sharif-al M. Khan appointed Director for US Golden Dome Defence project

US Air Force Brigadier General Sharifal M. Khan, who served in the Middle East, has been appointed director of staff for the Pentagon’s “Golden Dome” project, also known as America’s Iron Dome.

According to US officials, the project is designed to develop and deploy advanced missile defence systems.

A few days ago, Sharifal Khan took on this important responsibility for the first time as a Muslim and Bangladeshi officer. He will oversee the strategy and policies of the “Golden Dome” project through partnerships with industries, universities, national labs and government agencies.

Brigadier General Khan graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1997 and has extensive experience in space systems, satellite operations, and national missions.  He has been deployed twice to the Middle East and has received several high military awards for his service.
