ISLAMABAD: Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong visited PAF headquarters and hailed PAF’s performance, effective use of Chinese technology in India-Pakistan tensions.
He paid an official visit to the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Headquarters in Islamabad, where he met with Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu. During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, including defence cooperation and the evolving geo-strategic environment. According to ISPR, the Air Chief expressed his gratitude to China for its consistent support and unwavering friendship. He acknowledged China’s critical role in technology transfer and research and development, and reaffirmed commitment to extended joint exercises and high-level exchanges under multilateral frameworks. Both parties emphasised the importance of enhanced coordination and cooperation to meet emerging regional challenges.
The Air Chief noted that Pakistan-China relations are deeply rooted in history and guided by a shared vision for regional peace and stability. He also stressed that future bilateral ties would be further deepened through continued cooperation and partnership. Ambassador Jiang specifically praised the Pakistan Air Force’s exceptional operational competence during the recent Pakistan-India tensions, particularly its effective use of Chinese-manufactured equipment and technology. He appreciated the encouraging outcomes of Pakistan’s local investments in indigenous defence capabilities and assured continued technical support from China to further enhance the PAF’s operational strength. He added that improvements in domestic technological development will contribute significantly to strengthening Pakistan’s overall defence potential.
