BRIDGETOWN: Former West Indies player Chris Gayle has revealed the real reason behind his sudden exit from the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2021.
During an interview, the explosive batsman disclosed that he felt disrespected while playing for Punjab Kings, which led him into depression for the first time in his life.
It is worth noting that the 2021 IPL season was initially suspended in May due to a surge in COVID-19 cases and was later resumed in September in the UAE.
Chris Gayle played two matches for Punjab Kings after the league resumed, and at the time, it was officially stated that he had left the bio-secure bubble due to “bubble fatigue.” However, years later, the West Indian legend has now shared that there was more to the story.
