BANNU: Chief Justice of Pakistan CJP Yahya Afridi emphasized judicial reforms and institutional harmony during his visit to the Peshawar High Court’s Bannu Bench on Friday.
Meeting with PHC Chief Justice SM Attique Shah, judges, and lawyers, Justice Afridi discussed improving judicial capacity, legal training, and automation in courts. He urged prioritized funding for underdeveloped areas and better incentives for judges serving there.
The CJP inspected local facilities, including a jail and hospital, and inaugurated a drug rehabilitation center. He interacted with inmates, including Bahadur Khan, whose case faced delays until its April 2025 resolution. Justice Afridi directed police to ensure timely charge sheets.
“An independent judiciary is vital for justice,” he stated, stressing district judges’ role in a fair legal system.
