COAS Celebrates Eid with Troops in South Waziristan, Dera Ismail Khan

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir on Monday visited troops stationed in South Waziristan and Dera Ismail Khan to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with soldiers deployed along the western border, emphasizing the armed forces’ resolve in ensuring national security.

According to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief offered Eid prayers with the troops and prayed for Pakistan’s stability and prosperity. During his interaction with the soldiers, Gen Munir commended their unwavering commitment and sacrifices in defending the country.

“Your dedication and resilience not only safeguard our homeland but also reflect your deep love for Pakistan,” the COAS told the troops. He praised the armed forces and law enforcement agencies (LEAs) for their relentless efforts in combating terrorism, acknowledging the bravery of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in standing firm against security threats.

The COAS highlighted that the successes achieved in maintaining peace were a result of the sacrifices made by martyrs and the unwavering resolve of security personnel.

Upon his arrival, Gen Munir was received by the Peshawar Corps Commander. The visit underscored the military leadership’s solidarity with frontline troops during the festive occasion, reinforcing morale amid ongoing counter-terrorism operations.

The army chief’s presence in the restive regions sent a strong message of resolve, as security forces continue operations to eliminate militant threats along the western border.
