Curfew imposed in South Waziristan’s Barmal tehsil amid security concerns

Partial curfew imposed in Upper and Lower South Waziristan

SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Authorities imposed a strict curfew in Tehsil Barmal today following security threats. The district administration’s notification bans all movement effective immediately across Barmal, including Sholam, Ragzai, and the Khamrang-Sholam corridor.

All markets and commercial centers are ordered closed. Exceptions require written police/security force permission with valid ID. Citizens must move vehicles 100 meters off roads during security operations.

Deputy Commissioner South Waziristan Lower warned of legal action against violators, urging residents to remain indoors “to avoid unpleasant incidents.” The curfew affects key areas along the Pak-Afghan Highway.
