Lahore; Authorities in Punjab have identified more than 58,000 social media pages spreading anti-state narratives.

According to police, joint teams from Safe City and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) have intensified cyber patrolling. So far, 58,788 suspicious pages have been reported to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

Officials revealed that 11,132 pages promoting hate speech and anti-state propaganda have already been blocked. They also noted that around 80% of these accounts are being operated from foreign countries.

Legal action will be taken against those involved once their identities are confirmed, authorities added.
