DG rescue 1122 visits Water rescue camp Fizagat Bypass Mingora

SWAT: Director General Rescue 1122 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Tayyab Abdullah and Deputy Commissioner Swat Saleem Jan visited the water rescue camp on Fizagat Bypass, Mingora, Swat and reviewed the arrangements and safety measures of Rescue 1122 given the monsoon season.

On this occasion, Director Operation and Coordination of Rescue Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr. Mir Alam Khan and District Police Officer Swat, Muhammad Umar, District Emergency Officer Swat, Rafiullah Marwat and other concerned officers and officials and others were also present.

District Emergency Officer Swat gave a detailed briefing to Director General Rescue Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Deputy Commissioner Swat on the response camp to ensure the safety of the public during the monsoon season and for any possible accident in the Swat River.

The briefing said that water vehicles, rescue ambulances, water boats, life jackets, life buoys, ropes and other modern water rescue machinery and equipment have been deployed at the Bypass Mingora Rescue Response Camp so that the rescue team can take timely action in case of any emergency, especially drowning incidents or river accidents.

In addition, trained water rescue personnel are continuously on duty so that a quick response could be given at any time. He said that response camps have also been established at Bahrain, Khwaza Khela Bridge and Brikot Bridge.

Rafiullah Marwat said that during the monsoon, the extraordinary increase in the flow of water in the Swat River and the carelessness of the public towards the rivers increase the risks. In view of this, water rescue camps have been established at sensitive places like Bypass Mingora and others to ensure the safety of human lives.

He said that in case of any emergency, the public should immediately inform the Rescue 1122 helpline so that timely action can be taken. On this occasion, rescue personnel conducted a search operation in the Swat River.
