ISLAMABAD:The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, along with zonal committees, will hold a crucial meeting today to sight the Shawwal crescent, which will determine the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Eidul Fitr celebrations across Pakistan.
Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad will lead the session at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, where religious scholars, meteorological experts, and stakeholders will review moon-sighting reports from various regions. The committee’s decision will officially confirm whether Eidul Fitr will be celebrated on Monday, March 31, or Tuesday, April 1.
The Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) had earlier predicted that the Shawwal moon would likely be visible on March 30, suggesting that Eidul Fitr would fall on March 31. However, the final announcement will depend on verified testimonies of moon sightings from across the country.
