FIA arrests key human smuggler from Parachinar, involved in Libya boat tragedy

 

 

PESHAWAR: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) ​​has arrested a key suspect, an alleged human smuggler from Parachinar who was wanted in the Libya capsize tragedy to the agency.

According to FIA spokesperson, Amir Hussain, a highly wanted human smuggler of the notorious gang involved in the Libya boat accident that took place in February 2025, from Parachinar, District Kurram.

FIA ​​spokesperson said the arrest of the accused was carried out with the help of modern technology and human intelligence. Amir Hussain was involved in sending innocent citizens to Europe via sea, and he extorted Rs3.7 million from the victim, Nusrat Hussain, to take them to Europe. He used to receive huge amounts of money in bank accounts.

FIA spokesperson said the accused, along with his other associates, tried to send the citizens to Italy via Libya, during which the victim died.

The FIA ​​Kohat zone has been searching for Amir Hussain since the boat accident, while his other associates Munir Hussain, Ahmed Aslam, Shah Faisal, and Wajid Ali, are running a human smuggling network from the United Arab Emirates, Libya, and Italy.

Aamir Hussain also received huge sums of money from other victims of the boat accident, while the bank accounts used by him have already been seized. Several raids had been conducted earlier to arrest him.

The accused has been arrested, and an investigation has been initiated, while contacts are being made with Interpol to arrest other members of the gang abroad.

According to the FIA ​​spokesperson, the Federal Investigation Agency (Kohat Zone) is continuing its crackdown on human trafficking networks. Efforts are being made to ensure strict punishment to the human traffickers arrested under the zero tolerance policy so that this heinous business can be completely eradicated at the international level.
