Gandapur’s exit from politics would ‘benefit PTI and KP’: Shagufta Malik

Shagufta Malik Says Gandapur’s Exit from Politics Would ‘Benefit PTI and KP’

Peshawar: Following the recent decision on reserved seats, the opposition in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) now needs only 20 more members to potentially form the government. However, the Awami National Party (ANP) has clarified it will not support any “unconstitutional or undemocratic” move, staying true to its principles.

Meanwhile, ANP leader Shagufta Malik criticized KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur during an appearance on the Pakhtoon Digital Podcast, stating that his “temperament and methods are not suitable for politics.” She added that his departure from politics would benefit both the province and his party, PTI.

Malik also raised concerns over women’s welfare under the PTI-led government, claiming that accessing funds from the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) has become harder. She further alleged that a specialized healthcare facility for women has become inactive and pensions have been discontinued, suggesting the government is neglecting women and youth.

Despite ongoing no-confidence motion discussions, no concrete steps have been taken yet.
