Unknown miscreants blew up a gas pipeline in Bannu with explosives, and four employees of the working company were kidnapped in broad daylight.
The incident occurred in Hashim Koruna village of district Bannu. The abductees include Rahim, son of Toor, Muqeem, son of Naseer Shah, Younis, son of Saif-ur-Rehman and a tractor driver, who were shifted to an unknown location.
A few hours after the incident, the attackers targeted the pipeline with explosives at Hashim Koruna, which severely affected the gas line from North Waziristan to Punjab.
An explosion caused a major gas leak and spread panic in the surrounding areas. Administration and technical teams reached the spot.
Security forces have cordoned off the area and started an investigation. According to officials, efforts are underway to recover the hostages and arrest the saboteurs.
