Green shirts shine bright in T20 opener against Bangladesh

Pakistan took a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20 series after a convincing 37-run win over Bangladesh in the opening match at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

Batting first, Pakistan posted a strong total of 201 for 7. Captain Agha Salman led the charge with a composed 56, while Shadab Khan added a quickfire 48. Contributions from Hassan Nawaz (44) and Mohammad Haris (31) helped set a competitive target of 202.

In reply, Bangladesh were bowled out for 164 in 19.2 overs. Despite a valiant 48-run effort from skipper Liton Das, the chase faltered. Zakir Ali (36) and Tanzid Hasan (31) offered brief resistance, but the rest of the batting lineup failed to keep up the momentum.

Hassan Ali was the standout performer with the ball, claiming a five-wicket haul. Shadab Khan took two wickets, while Khushdil Shah, Agha Salman, and Faheem Ashraf chipped in with one wicket each.

The second T20I promises to be a crucial encounter as Bangladesh look to bounce back and level the series.
