India cannot unilaterally abrogate Indus Waters Treaty, says Ishaq Dar

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has said that India cannot unilaterally abrogate the Indus Waters Treaty; Pakistan will not leave even a drop of its share of water.

While addressing at conference titled “Regional Dialogue 2025” in Islamabad on Monday, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has clearly stated that Pakistan is on full alert at all levels, and if India commits any kind of aggression, it will be given a full and befitting retaliation.

Ishaq Dar said that Pakistan will protect every drop of its share of water, and no one will be allowed to seize or stop it. He said that India cannot unilaterally terminate the Indus Waters Treaty, and if it takes such a step, this step will be tantamount to a declaration of war.

He added that Pakistan has foiled many conspiracies spread by India in the past in a matter of moments, and no compromise will be made on national security in the future either.

Speaking on the Pahalgam incident, the Deputy Prime Minister termed the Indian allegations as baseless, saying that Pakistan was not involved in the incident in any way, and India had spread false propaganda without any evidence.

Ishaq Dar said that India’s allegations and actions like water aggression are a threat to regional peace, and the international community should take notice of it.
