QUETTA: The Jaffar Express, traveling from Peshawar to Quetta, was halted in Sibi due to security concerns, On Friday.
Railway officials confirmed that the train already delayed by five hours due to flood-related disruptions in Punjab, arrived late in Sibi, where authorities decided to suspend its journey as a precautionary measure.
The district administration in Sibi arranged road transport for passengers to continue their journey to Quetta safely.
Meanwhile, on the occasion of Defence Day (September 6), authorities cancelled today’s scheduled Jaffar Express service from Quetta to Peshawar citing ongoing security risks.

However, the Chaman-bound train from Quetta is operating on schedule, railway authorities added.
