Jaishankar admits US outreach but insists Pak-India ceasefire was bilateral

TRF denies role in India's false flag drama in Pahalgam

Conflicting statements have emerged about the US role in reducing tensions between Pakistan and India. Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar acknowledged that the US and other countries were in touch with both nations during recent tensions, but stressed that the ceasefire agreement was “directly agreed between Pakistan and India.”

This contradicts earlier remarks by Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, who denied any US involvement, calling the ceasefire strictly bilateral. Misri claimed former US President Donald Trump “wanted to take credit” without India’s consent.

Meanwhile, Trump continues to assert his role, recently stating on Truth Social that he facilitated the ceasefire. The disagreement highlights ongoing diplomatic tensions over who mediated the de-escalation.
