KP govt decides to establish more Zamung Kor facilities

 

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to establish more Zamung Kor facilities in the parts of the province and recruit permanent staff for them.

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur here on Friday in which various issues related to Zamong Kor and shelters were reviewed and important decisions were taken.

The decisions include establishing a separate Zamong Kor centre for girls in Peshawar, and projects for Zamong Kor centers in Malakand and Hazara divisions will be included in the next budget.

In addition, it was decided to arrange a permanent building for the Zamong Kor centre operating in a rented building in DI Khan, besides recruiting permanent staff for Zamong Kor centres and upgradation shelters established in different areas of the province.

Talking to the participants of the meeting, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur said that in the next budget, all expenses of Zamong Kor and other welfare activities should be included in the regular budget, as it is not possible to run such welfare activities in a better way through Grant-in-Aid.

Chief Minister Ali Amin, while issuing instructions, said steps should be taken to remove the deficiencies in the shelters, and these shelters should be upgraded to state-of-the-art standards in the upcoming budget.

Chief Minister Ali Main Gandapur, expressing flayed over the non-payment of salaries of the shelter staff, directed the concerned authorities to ensure immediate payment of salaries to the staff.

The meeting decided in principle to establish more Zamung Kor centres in different districts of the province.
