MARDAN: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Advisor Ehtesham Ali inaugurates Jwandoon card for the outpatient departments(OPD) to provide 100% free medical treatment to those patients who are not admitted to the hospital.
The program launched with the collaboration of the German organisation KFW and would be implemented in four districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on a pilot basis. The program would be extended to other districts after its successful completion in the designated zones of Malakand, Mardan, Kohat and Chitral. Addressing the occasion, Health Advisor Ehtesham Ali said that this was the vision of PTI founding chairman Imran Khan to support the needy people with free of cost medical treatment and today this mission would be completed as per his dreams.
He added that for the first time, an outpatient department patient would be provided free of cost medicine and complete treatment. The Sehat card plus program was not entitled for the OPD patients, and for that reason, this program was launched to facilitate the OPD patients. He said that Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has allocated a huge amount of Rs 02 billion for the Sehat card program, and this new program would further strengthen the health system of the province.
He pledged that Jwandoon Card was not just a convenience but it is a guarantee of a dignified life to avail the free cost of medicine and diagnostic facilities. He said that free of cost health is the right of every human being, and that was the reason that PTI is delivering this right of the people to their doorstep. He said that people can check their eligibility by sending SMS of CNIC number to 9930. He said that the KP government increased the Sehat Card budget from Rs 35 billion to Rs 41 billion while Punjab closed the Sehat Card and took away free medical facilities from the common man soon after the toppling of the PTI government.
