KP Police fighting terrorists bravely: Barrister Saif

KP govt expresses grief over civilian losses in Mardan operation

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa spokesperson Barrister Saif said that the province’s police are fighting terrorists with courage.

He said that police have foiled multiple terrorist attacks in the last three days. Locals in Bannu and Lakki Marwat stood with police to repel militants.

In a statement, Barrister Saif said that the KP government has praised both the police and the brave citizens for their resistance against terrorism.

He said that people and police must stay united to defeat terrorism. “Eliminating terrorists is impossible without public support,” he said.

He criticised the federal government for neglecting KP’s security challenges. “The fake federal government should cooperate instead of indulging in political rhetoric,” he stated. He stressed that terrorism is a national, not just a provincial, issue.

Barrister Saif accused the center of remaining a silent spectator. “Instead of helping KP fight terrorism, the federal government is withholding provincial funds,” he said. He warned that weakening KP economically only fuels terrorism.

He also highlighted financial injustices after the FATA merger. “KP’s population has grown, but the NFC award remains unchanged,” he said. He added that the federal government owes KP Rs 700 billion under the AIP programme but has released only Rs 132 billion so far.

He urged immediate action to strengthen KP’s fight against terrorism.
