KARACHI: A spectacular lunar eclipse will be visible in Pakistan’s night sky on September 7, offering a rare astronomical treat for skywatchers across the country.
The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) confirmed that the eclipse will begin at 8:30 PM (local time) and reach its peak at 1:55 AM, continuing into the early hours of the morning.
During the eclipse, the Moon will pass completely into Earth’s shadow, creating a stunning visual effect that can be safely observed with the naked eye.
The lunar eclipse will also be visible from parts of Asia, Africa, and Europe, making it a significant global celestial event.

SUPARCO said that the eclipse poses no harm to vision and can be watched without any protective eyewear. The agency will also share real-time updates and images on its official social media platforms during the event.
