Multan Sultans suffer ninth defeat in PSL, defeated by Quetta Gladiators by 2 wickets

 

In the 28th match of Pakistan Super League Season 10, Quetta Gladiators performed brilliantly and defeated Multan Sultans by 2 wickets.

Multan Sultans suffered their ninth consecutive defeat in the tournament, while they have already been eliminated from the play-off stage.

Batting first, Multan Sultans scored 185 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Yasir Khan scored 45 runs, and Tayyab Tahir played a brilliant innings of 36 runs.

Usman Tariq bowled brilliantly for Quetta, sending 3 players back to the pavilion for 32 runs. Khurram Shahzad, Wasim Junior, Abrar Ahmed and Faheem Ashraf took one wicket each.

In reply, Quetta Gladiators chased the target in a thrilling manner and scored 186 runs for the loss of 8 wickets on the last ball to claim victory.

Hassan Nawaz played a key role in the team’s success by playing a match-winning innings of 67 runs, while opener Khawaja Nafi played a crucial innings of 51 runs. Shahid Aziz bowled best for Multan, taking 3 wickets. Quetta Gladiators’ position on the points table was further strengthened, while the end of the season was disappointing for Multan Sultans.
