DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Malik Naseer Koki Khel, the leader of the Pashtun Qaumi Jirga, was re-arrested by the Attock police on Tuesday, shortly after he secured bail from the Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan) court. He had been granted bail in cases filed against him in the Dera Ismail Khan district.
According to the police, Malik Naseer Koki Khel was apprehended outside the DI Khan prison by a police team from Attock District in Punjab, immediately after his release on bail.
He is facing multiple cases (FIRs) lodged in various locations due to his criticisms of state institutions made during a Jirga held in his hometown, Khyber, in October 2024.
The Attock police stated that Koki Khel was arrested upon his release because there was also a case registered against him at a police station in Attock District, Punjab. Following his re-arrest, he was transferred from DI Khan to the Attock district, where he is scheduled to appear before the court on Wednesday.
