PESHAWAR: A day of mourning was observed across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KP) on Saturday to honor the victims of the recent torrential rains, floods, and the martyrs of a rescue helicopter crash, following the announcement by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
According to the official statement, the national flag was lowered to half-mast on all government buildings in tribute to those who lost their lives. The provincial government expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and assured them of full support.
CM Gandapur reaffirmed that the government stood by the affected people in this hour of grief, vowing to continue relief and rehabilitation efforts until normalcy is restored. He directed all relevant departments, including Rescue 1122, PDMA, and district administrations, to stay fully mobilized for timely assistance.
Special prayers were offered in mosques for the flood victims and martyrs, while civil society and local communities held gatherings to show sympathy and support for the grieving families.
