Opposition needs 30 more votes to topple PTI in KP: Kundi

Governor Kundi

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has suggested that opposition parties may bring a no-confidence motion against the PTI-led provincial government if they gather enough support.

Speaking on Samaa News’ program Red Line, Kundi stated that while the opposition currently has 52 to 54 members in the KP Assembly, they would need 25 to 30 more to succeed in a no-trust move. “If even one more member is needed, it is a democratic right to bring no-confidence,” he said.

Kundi claimed that if the PTI government falls, it would be “a day of salvation for the people,” citing alleged corruption in wheat and sugar scandals. He criticized PTI’s internal conflicts, saying, “They don’t need political enemies; they are enemies of themselves.”

Responding to PTI’s claims of conspiracies, Kundi mocked Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s recent statements, saying, “He takes 5-6 days to come from Peshawar to Islamabad but is sent back in 5-6 hours. Who is harassing him?” He also referenced Aleema Khan’s remarks about “minus one” and questioned delays in development projects like the Peshawar stadium, which has been under construction since 2017 with only its name changed.
