HARIPUR: Over 1000 passengers got stranded after Karachi-bound Hazara Express developed a technical fault near the Sarai Saleh area of Haripur on Wednesday afternoon.
According to sources, the engine of the Hazara Express broke down after its water pump failed to function.
The Hazara Express, heading to Karachi from Havelian, stopped at Sarai Saleh due to the problem and caused hardships to the passengers.
Sources said around 1,000 passengers were on board the Hazara Express train.
The stranded passengers also complained about the poor arrangement in the train coaches, and they faced problems due to scorching weather conditions.
On the other hand, the Railway officials said that the procedure for the replacement engine has started and is being moved from Taxila to make the train operational as soon as possible.
