PDMA issues alert about rains in KP hilly areas from tomorrow

 

PESHAWAR: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has issued an alert about rains in the province’s hilly areas from tomorrow evening.

According to a statement issued by the PDMA KP on Monday, strong winds and thundershowers are expected across various districts of the province from tomorrow and will continue till April 11.

It said the authority had directed all the concerned departments to stay alert and ensure pre-emptive measures, as rains can cause landslides in hilly areas and flash floods in urban areas.

The statement said the rain likely to lash upper parts of the Malakand and Hazara division, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Malakand, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Waziristan, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Bannu, Karak and Kohat.
