PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court has issued a letter to all judicial officers of the province regarding the early disposal of various types of cases.
According to letter issued to the Judicial officer, states that the National Judicial Policy Committee has set timelines for the timely disposal of cases, according to which a period of 12, 18 and 24 months has been set for the disposal of various criminal cases, while juvenile cases and labour cases have been instructed to be disposed of within 6 months.
Similarly, a timeline of 6 to 24 months has been set for land dispute cases. Inheritance and public revenue cases have been asked to be completed within a year, while family and rent cases have been instructed to be disposed of within 6 months.
Moreover, the timeline has been given to complete the succession certificate in just 2 months, while contract enforcement cases in 18 months. According to the letter, the target has been set to dispose of civil court degree and banking degree cases in one year, while rent degree cases in just 3 months.
The aim of this move by the Peshawar High Court is to make the process of delivering justice in the province faster and more efficient so that the public does not have to wait for years for the decisions of their cases.
It is to mentioning here that late disposal of cases is are major cause of dispute in society, and people take the law into their own hands after the late disposal of cases. The late disposal also causes expenses for the poor people, who ultimately curse the country’s judicial process.
