PML-N’s Wali calls for Gandapur’s ouster amid Kohistan financial scandal

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Information and Broadcasting Ikhtiar Wali Khan has demanded the immediate resignation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and the dissolution of the provincial assembly and the holding of fresh elections.
Ikhtiar Wali Khan says a corruption scandal worth billions of rupees has come to light in Kohistan district, where the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government is directly involved.
He claims that forty billion rupees have been withdrawn through fake checks, with the Accountant General’s Office recently revealing irregularities in one and sixteen.
Ikhtiar Wali sharply criticised the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, saying that the provincial government has become a “Bermuda Triangle”, where all the funds that come in disappear.
He demanded that Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur resign immediately, the provincial assembly be dissolved, and transparent elections be announced.
