Pakistan Peoples Party leader and former Minister of State Malik Azmat has expressed regret and shame over a recent flag-burning incident, for which he has apologised to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers.
In a video statement, Malik Azmat acknowledged that he should not have burned the flag and described himself as deeply ashamed and upset by his actions. He emphasised his respect for the flags of all political parties.
Malik Azmat expressed confusion over how he reached a state where such a regrettable incident occurred. He appealed to PTI workers not to be angry and to forgive him for the incident.
He further mentioned that PTI workers also have affection for him and that he appreciates their support. Azmat admitted that his actions hurt the feelings of PTI workers, which has also left him saddened and upset. He explained that he was not fully aware of his actions at the time and felt mentally overwhelmed due to the surrounding circumstances.
