President, PM condemn attack on passengers in Balochistan

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack on passengers in Kalmat, Balochistan. The attack left five people dead.

Both leaders expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives. They extended condolences to the victims’ families.

President Zardari called terrorists enemies of the country’s progress. He said they do not want Balochistan to develop. He prayed for the injured and for strength for the bereaved families.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also condemned the attack. He expressed grief and sorrow over the tragic incident. He directed authorities to provide the best medical care to the injured.

The prime minister ordered a full investigation. He vowed that those responsible would face justice. He said anti-state elements seek to disrupt Balochistan’s peace and development. He assured that such cowardly attacks would fail.

The attack took place in Kalmat, Gwadar. Armed assailants intercepted vehicles on the Coastal Highway.

According to Levies sources, attackers stopped a bus traveling from Gwadar to Karachi. They identified individuals, killed four passengers, and abducted three others.

Security forces and Levies personnel reached the scene quickly. Reports suggest the deceased were from Punjab.

Balochistan has faced similar attacks before. Terrorist groups have repeatedly targeted non-local passengers, especially from Punjab. These attacks continue to pose serious security challenges in the region.
